Smoke from fires burning hundreds of miles away has led to unhealthy air and warnings for parts of Santa Barbara County on Wednesday. The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District said the air quality remains unhealthy for sensitive groups in Santa Maria and Lompoc due to particulate matter conditions. 'These conditions (are) due to smoke from wildfires burning elsewhere that is hovering over California,' APCD officials said. Sensitive groups, including people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teenagers, should take precautions, according to the warning.
