May 16—What started as a structure fire quickly ballooned into a 110-acre vegetation fire in California Valley on Monday afternoon. According to emergency response app, PulsePoint, a fire was reported at Angwin Trail and Alleghany Road around 12:23 p.m. The fire began at a structure, but began spreading to the surrounding grass, according to emergency scanner traffic. The fire was mostly doused by 3:30 p.m., after burning roughly 110 acres, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson. In total, Cal Fire sent eight engines, two crews, two bulldozers and a water tender to attack the blaze, while the Bureau of Land Management sent two engines and a hotshot crew, the spokesperson said.
